Counseling retreat for military families in works for spring

Local and Fort Drum officials plan a spring seminar to help families deal with substance abuse prevention in the home, how to communicate better with family, how to bond with each other in a healthy way and how to learn to use refusal skills in an appropriate and respectful way.

The Fort Drum Regional Liaison Organization has completed a 21-minute promotional video, "Welcome to Drum Country." The video is aimed at soldiers and family members who are assigned to Fort Drum.

GOVERNOR PATERSON DIRECTS FLAGS TO BE FLOWN AT HALF-STAFF
Governor David A. Paterson has directed that flags on New York State government buildings be flown at half-staff on Wednesday, January 6, in honor of a Fort Drum soldier who died in Baghdad on January 1.
