Press Release- 1st BCT Deployment Ceremony Feb. 9

FORT DRUM, NY--The 1st Brigade Combat Team will conduct a deployment
ceremony 10 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 9, at Magrath gym here.

The 1st BCT deployed one battalion to Afghanistan in January and is
preparing the remainder of its units to deploy this spring as part of
the 30,000 troops authorized by President Barack Obama on Nov. 30, 2009.

Maj. Gen. James Terry, 10th Mountain Division (Light Infantry)
commander, will give remarks at the ceremony.

Media interested in attending the ceremony must meet at the Media
Operations Center on route 26 not later than 9 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 9.
